Since 2004, Moogfest has brought together artists, futurist thinkers, inventors, entrepreneurs, designers, engineers, scientists, and musicians.


By day, Moogfest is a platform for conversation and experimentation. This mind-expanding conference attracts creative and technology enthusiasts for three days of participatory programming in Durham, North Carolina. By night, Moogfest presents cutting-edge music in venues throughout the city. Performing artists include early pioneers in electronic music, alongside pop and avant garde experimentalists of today.


Moogfest explores the future of creativity, expands our understanding of electronic music, and pays tribute to the legacy of Bob Moog — an engineer that developed new technological tools for creative expression.






Moogfest presents cutting-edge music in unique and intimate venues throughout the city. Performing artists include early pioneers in electronic music, alongside pop and avant-garde experimentalists of today. Expect new formats, incredible sonic fidelity, and technology experiences that explode the stage.



This mind-expanding conference includes daily keynote presentations, panel discussions, and artist talks. With music as our common language, and technology as a tool, we explore the boundaries of science, engineering, design, and creative expression.



Charting a course for the future, Moogfest invites attendees to participate in workshops, expert demos, and masterclasses. The program ranges from the experimental, to the practical and professional–for either novice or expert.  Masterclasses are hosted in theater spaces, while workshops in classrooms and labs throughout the city are limited to small groups.


Film Fest

An exploration of music in film with live scores, conversations with composers, Moog-ish documentaries, and a specially curated program of of experimental shorts and video work.



Interactive media art and immersive sonic environments throughout the festival. New commissions and site-specific collaborations between engineers, musicians, coders, and sculptors offer new ways of experiencing the synthesis of music, art, and technology.
