Details

Los Angeles is now recognized as the world’s center for art and culture, with a distinctive, woven-in influence from many different cultures. Our strength is in our diversity, and art has the greatest impact when it crosses all boundaries. The LA Art Show continues to set the standard with creative programming and one-of-a-kind experiences for an expanding collecting audience as LA becomes a top destination for art. With over 80 galleries, museums, and non-profit arts organizations from all over the world displaying paintings, sculptures, works on paper, installations, photographs, designs, videos, and performances, LA Art Show is the unrivaled worldwide art experience. You have the option of purchasing any of the paintings displayed by galleries.

Today’s renowned galleries have more than 180,000 square feet of exhibition space dedicated to them. Beyond their booths, these local and foreign galleries create exceptional exhibitions that are at the forefront of the developing contemporary art movement. In specialized sections, the exhibition provides a remarkable variety of works and experiences.

Modern + Contemporary, the largest programming area at the LA Art Show, features a broad range of contemporary painting, illustration, sculpture, and more from galleries in Los Angeles, the Pacific Rim, and other nations.

In order to foster the creative energy of foreign collectors, artists, curators, museums, and non-profits, DIVERSEartLA is a special programming segment that takes advantage of the city’s location on the Pacific Rim and connects them with Los Angeles audiences. Each year, as part of our civic engagement, The LA Art Show offers 50,000 square feet of display space to participating organizations. The featured artwork is also not offered for sale. Marisa Caichiolo is in charge of overall curation, working with individual curators from different institutions throughout the globe.

The European Pavilion presents selected exhibitions reflecting diverse current movements and stylistic developments. It is home to European galleries from Spain, Germany, Italy, France, the United Kingdom, and Denmark.

Beyond the limitations of booth spaces, Featured Exhibitions design immersive experiences to captivate audiences with challenging artworks, performances, and other exhibitions presented by participating galleries, spotlighting works that will be talked about for years to come.

ROOTS is a special exhibition area for galleries that present historical works and contemporary artists honoring the voices and movements that came before.

The Project Space exhibitors, who come from all over the world, present solo exhibitions that represent a wide range of concepts and skills.

Photos and other non-canvas art are displayed in special exhibition hall called Works on Paper.

About the location and the venue

The LA Art Show is conveniently located near LA LIVE!, the site of the Grammy Awards, The Grammy Museum, and an impressive entertainment complex that includes the Nokia Theatre, the Staples Center Arena, premier dining establishments, and The Ritz Carlton Hotel and Residences. The LA Art Show is at the center of the city’s vibrant energy. Patrons of the arts gladly drive to Downtown L.A. for the best in Classical Music (Disney Hall), Theater (Mark Taper and Ahmanson), and Contemporary Art (MOCA, Art District).

The Broad Museum, our newest neighbor, which opened to rapturous crowds, features 2,000 works of art from The Broad Art Foundation and the Broads’ private holdings, which rank among the most significant collections of postwar and contemporary art in the entire world. The must-see attraction in California is brought to life by OUE Skyspace LA, which is housed in the recognizable US Bank Tower. With unrestricted 360-degree views and a height of about 1,000 feet above downtown Los Angeles, this attraction offers thrills and excitement to audiences of all ages.

The LA Convention Center, with its high ceilings, enormous space, one of the biggest dedicated parking facilities in the entire city, and more than 15,000 spaces nearby, is Southern California’s most technologically advanced green venue.
